Sunday's Message (12/13/2009)

Teacher Betty Clark brought an extremely encouraging message on yesterday. She emphasized the fact of how the Saints of God must be in all ways faithful to Lord.

Scriptural Thought for the day - St. Matthew 19:21 Jesus saith unto him, if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

GIVE IT ALL UP!

What promises have you made to the Lord this year? Did you promise the Lord that you would Pray more, Fast more, or be more faithful with reading his Word? The truth is we have two more weeks to prove to him we can be faithful in our promises. We must examine ourselves and realize that we have to do better. We have to "Do the ONE thing!" and not be like the rich young ruler and allow the cares of the world and the things of it divert our attention away from pleasing the Lord.

Today's Message

Spiritual Thought for today: St. John 1: 1, 14, 17, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 17 For the law as given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Philippians 2: 5 - 8, Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Hebrew 4: 14 - 16, Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

"JESUS WAS A HUMAN BEING JUST LIKE ME!"
